The Long Bow is an ongoing performative research project, initially used as part of the live tour for Hilary Woods’ album Acts of Light. The design for the bow was conceived over several months, with a prototype being made using gaffa tape and wood. The method of pulling tension into the hair and wood was inspired by the design of bows such as those used with the Kamancheh, an Iranian bowed string instrument.
